CHARITY RUN

The race will start at 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 3rd 2026.

The registration fee is 15€.

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya facilities will remain open until 9:30 PM.

Since 2019, the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona has supported the charitable initiatives promoted by María de Villota before her passing on October 11th 2013.

This commitment is carried out through the Legado María de VillotaFundación Ana Carolina Diez Mahou.

All proceeds generated by the race will be donated entirely to the Legado.

A Race Bib 0 option is also available for anyone who wishes to support the «Primera Estrella» programme without taking part in the race.

The course

The race covers a total distance of 5 km, following the layout of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with one full lap of the Circuit plus an additional section.

A unique opportunity to run on the same asphalt where Formula 1, MotoGP, and other major international championships compete.

RUNNER SERVICES

To ensure you enjoy the experience to the fullest, the race includes the following services:

⏱️ OFFICIAL TIMING

The race will feature official timing using the ChampionChip timing system, ensuring an accurate record of your finishing time.

🏃‍♂️ STARTING WAVES

Participants will start in two separate waves to ensure a smooth race:

  • Wave 1: Runners expected to complete the 5 km in under 25 minutes.
  • Wave 2: All other participants.

⏳ TIME LIMIT

The maximum time allowed to complete the race is 60 minutes.

🎒 BAG DROP

A baggage storage service will be available inside the Circuit, underneath the Main Grandstand.

Opening hours: Saturday from 5:00 PM.

💧 REFRESHMENTS

All participants will receive post-race refreshments at the finish area to aid
recovery.

🛍️ RUNNER'S PACK

The Runner’s Pack will be distributed after the race and is reserved exclusively for registered participants who complete the event.

The first 250 runners registered before 15 September will also receive a free ticket for Sunday, October 4th, for the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona together with their Runner’s Pack.

Race bibs can be collected on Saturday, October 3rd, from 5:00 PM until 20 minutes before the race starts.

Entry to the Circuit on race day is not free, except for registered runners, who may enter free of charge from 5:00 PM on Saturday.

Getting to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, home of the exciting Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona, is quick and easy due to its strategic location.

Situated just 32 km from Barcelona and 18 km from the Barcelona Coast, there are several transport options available.

CHARITY RAFFLE - VIP LAP

By making a donation to the Legado María de Villota during registration or
through Race Bib 0, you will automatically be entered into a draw to win a Sunday ticket for the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona on October 4th, including a VIP Lap around the Circuit at midday.

The VIP Lap is an exclusive experience where winners enjoy a lap of the Circuit as a passenger in a supercar driven by a professional racing driver.

The winner will be announced on Saturday, October 3rd, before the race begins.

Entries close at 11:59 PM on Tuesday, September 29th.

ONE CHARITY RACE, UNITED FOR THE LEGADO

Since 2019, the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona has proudly supported the charitable initiatives inspired by María de Villota.

All net proceeds from race registrations will be donated entirely to the Legado María de Villota and the Fundación Ana Carolina Díez Mahou.

Who was María de Villota?

María de Villota (1979–2013) was a pioneer in motorsport and the first Spanish woman to drive a Formula 1 car. Following a serious accident in 2012, she devoted her life to charitable work and supporting children with neuromuscular diseases, becoming an inspiring symbol of resilience and commitment.

Her legacy lives on through the Fundación and the Legado María de Villota, promoting solidarity, road safety and equality in sport.

Yes. The race is one of the activities held as part of the Festival de la Velocidad de Barcelona, a motorsport event taking place at the Circuit. Runners will be allowed onto the track once the motorsport activities have concluded.
